The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Moscow is Slovenia’s official representation in the Russian Federation.
The Republic of Slovenia established diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation on 25 May 1992 and shortly thereafter opened an embassy on Malaya Gruzinskaya Street. In 1995, the Embassy moved to a new building in the centre of Moscow, close to the statue of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, Russia’s greatest poet. The two countries have developed excellent relations, which is evident from regular political dialogue at the highest level and positive cooperation in the economic and cultural as well as other areas.
The Embassy maintains and promotes diplomatic relations with the Russian authorities and regions. Its main tasks include representing the interests of the Republic of Slovenia in the Russian Federation, promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation at the political level, fostering cooperation in the fields of the economy, culture, science, and education, promoting Slovenia’s tourism and providing consular assistance to and protection of Slovenian nationals.
The Embassy is also accredited to Belarus and the Central Asian countries (the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan).
This webpage contains information on the activities of the Embassy’s sections and Slovenia's activities in Moscow under the Newsroom tab.
